Location: 30 miles west of New Orleans, Louisiana
Features: Plantation
The Great River Road between New Orleans and Baton Rouge runs always parallel to the Mississippi River. There are some of the most beautiful plantations of the south at the roadside. One of them is Oak Alley Plantation, named after its beautiful alley to the house, which features giant and very old oak trees on both side. It's really an awesome sight! They also offer a guided tour of the plantation house, which is quite interesting. You'll get a good impression of how life was during that time.
