USA - Santa Rosa Island, Florida
Highway 98 connects the two citites Pensacola and Tallahassee in Florida. It runs more or less along the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico and features beautiful white sand beaches only a few minutes off the road.
A very nice place is Santa Rosa Island, an island just east of Pensacola. Because the island is very long, you'll easy find a place just for your own. There are almost no people, the beach is simply beautiful and the water is deeply blue. Even during wintertime (we went there in March) the water is already warm enough to take a bath. The sea is very calm there, so it's not a good place to do some windsurfing or boogie boarding like in Savannah. But it's defenitely a great place to spend a day or two...
