Location: 10 miles east of Charleston, South Carolina
Features: Plantation
Boone Hall Plantation is a typical example for most of the southern plantations. It has a huge garden and the house is really breathtaking. On the left and right side of the alley, which leads from the entrance gate to the house, there are small brick houses. That's the place where the slaves had to live. If you have a look into those huts, it's hard to imagine how people could survive under these inhuman conditions.
